Accepting an offer to play for FC Barcelona knowing that you can’t play for six months demonstrates the character of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal, because other players rejected the chance for the fear of sitting out and for the fear of not being a regular starter.
This was the case with Marco Reus. When the German thought about his chances of starting for the club, he took a step back and said that he didn’t want to come, saying he didn’t want to compete with the trident of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Sandro Ramirez, one of Luis Enrique’s back-ups to the front three, has played 18 games this season, though. That is just three less than Reus, whose Borussia Dortmund team won’t win the Bundesliga (they’re eight points back from Bayern Munich) and are competing in the Europa League.
Barça want players with character, players capable of competing with the cracks they already have, players who can inject energy into the group. That is exactly what they can expect from Arda and Aleix, who were brave enough to accept the Catalan club’s offer last summer.
